Kissed by a Vampire by Caridad Pineiro

My review for:  Kissed by a Vampire by Caridad Pinero
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

This is the very first book by this author I have ever read. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The story follows vampire elder Stacia, she is a vampire ancient and Alex is a DEA agent when they meet the first time Alex is in trouble and Stacia helps him. Years later they meet again and a relationship develops. Alex is working on a dangerous case involving human slavery and Stacia knowing what it is like to be enslaved helps. I don’t want to write anymore in case of spoilers. I feel like there is still more to this story, I'm not sure if it is a series there were a few unanswered questions I as the reader had. I gave this book 4/5 *Adult*

I decided even though this is a trilogy, I would review the three novellas as one book. This book was an easy read as it followed the same two characters Blake and Victoria as they meet and he becomes her submissive. Blake who is somewhat shy desires Victoria and embraces her way of life even if it makes him uneasy. They both realize their feelings are growing and they want to be "equals" as the relationship progresses. This book is adults only. I gave this trilogy 4/5 *Hot Read*

Become by Ali Cross

My review for: Become by Ali Cross

*I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Wow. Just wow. Ali Cross has created an elaborate world blended from fable and reality with engaging characters that not only stole my heart, but left me wanting more.

Desolation Black is hell spawn and I mean literally as in Lucifer’s daughter. She plays the part as minimally as possible. She tries to appease her father’s wishes, all but one. No matter how hard he tries to push her to Become, she refuses. That tiny sliver of humanity she holds on to for dear life, the spark within her, means too much to her for her to embrace her demon side.

With her father growing increasingly impatient with his heir, he forces her out of the safety of Hell and into the unknown of Earth. This place of feeling and remembering scares Desi more than any part of Hell ever could. But her father always gets his way, assuring her it’s for her own good that she will learn to be a better demon among the human sinners.

It is not the sinners or the darkness her father’s pawns that scares her the most. It is the one boy that could be her greatest downfall and the girl that needs a friend more than she needs one of her own. Because once she Becomes, how will she be able to save all she loves when she will be their greatest danger?

Become is a wonderfully heartbreaking and captivating story. It will pull at your heartstrings and have you cheering the characters on to the very end. I am madly in love this series and Ms. Cross’s style of writing. I can’t wait to start Desolate and continue their quest

The Acropolis (The Acropolis Series) by R.K. Ryals

My review for: The Acropolis (The Acropolis Series) by R.K. Ryals
Anne Nelson

*BOWS DOWN* to this phenomenal new series. Just as spectacular as “The Redemption Trilogy”

I received this book from Author R.K. Ryals herself for my enjoyment and my fair and unbiased opinion in a review.

I was so sad when The Redemption series ended, I didn’t want to think that there was no more of our Dayton and Marcas. But, at the same time I did want to see where Regina was going to take the rest of the characters and us along with them, to see how they would develop within themselves.

The Acropolis us the beginning of what’s to come next. Woot, woot and the main character is my favorite gargoyle Conor!! Our favorite gargoyle returns to captivate us, as his story is told. He’s a gargoyle this we know, he’s a guardian and a protector this we too know, but what is the rest of the story of him?

Conor has a new charge, (he misses his Dayton though) and her name is Emma Chase. Flighty, skittish and scared of everything and everyone. But, yes she has a reason to be this way.

Emma has been sick (or so they thought) for the last 6 years of her life, going from doctor to doctor, test after test… No one can/could figure out what was wrong with Emma. But, yes there were those that did. Why else would Conor who is a protector-guardian be assigned to Emma?

Yes, there are secrets that will come out about Emma, answers to questions sought after not only by the doctors, but by Emma herself for 6 years. Remember everyone has thought that she was dying.

Author Regina Ryals has come out with a bang in her new series “The Acropolis”, and after loving The Redemption Series I didn’t think it was possible to find again to find that my amazement and love for the characters to land smack right back into my hands with The Acropolis, but it did!! Although I had no doubt that Regina would turn out anything but a spectacular new series.

Regina has such a unique way of creating a phenomenal world, so different from our own, yet you can quite easily and pleasantly place yourself exactly in the same spot and emotions as her charters are.

The masterpiece of “The Acropolis” is so engaging that you will find yourself rooting for Conor and Emma just like you did for Dayton and Marcas. *flies high in sky, flaps wingz and cheers*

If book #1 in this series is any indication of what’s to come to us from R.K. Ryals, then we are in for another mind blowing series!! YAY

This series is going to be A MUST READ, I highly recommend that you get on board and get started. I wait eagerly for book 2 to come out in print “The Labyrinth”

This is just the beginning…

Scarlet Night by Megan Jeannette Parker

My review for Scarlet Night by the fabulous Megan Jeannette Parker.
Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Carrie Perkins-Cunningham

I received this book from Megan in exchange for an honest review and I just have to say THANK YOU!!!

First I would like to tell Miss Megan... YOU'RE KILLING ME! And now that I have expressed my current torture, I can get on with the review.

I started with the prequels to this fabulous book which give a short back story to Vane and Serena and where their lives were at the moment before they met, but even without those very short shorts, you can start from page one of Scarlet Night and have absolutely no problem falling madly in love with these awesome characters.

Vane Murdoch is a vampire with a curse. Though there is no history of why he received this blasted tattoo- which by description alone sounds incredibly hot- we know that he had to have done something horrible. Placed on him by the Taroe, a group of humans with immense magical knowledge, the Curse comes out anytime Zane lets his rage fly, causing him terrible pain, and transforming him into a hideous, powerful beast that's hell bent on a murderous rampage regardless of who is in the cross hairs. After the leader of his vampiric clan, Gregori Vailean, is murdered, the responsibility of finding the lost Heir to the throne is pushed to him. And he's pissed about it.

Serena Vailean is a powerful, sarcastic, foul-mouthed female Auric who ran from everything she'd known after having to much of her father's control, straight into a Hunters arms. After finding love like she'd never known, then losing it in a horrible fire, her life has been reduced to living in a ramshackle cabin in the middle of nowhere, constantly searching for a body for her ghostly lover that stays with her out of love. Or at least that's what she thinks.

When our two hard headed, foul mouth hero's find each other they are instantly attracted, but that doesn't stop the auric fists from flying of course.

We follow Zane, Serena, Zoey- the bubbly Auric with more power than anyone realizes- Isaac, and many others in their journey to save the clan of Vail from Keith, Serena's power hungry, sociopath brother who is hell bent on destroying everything his father ever built.

A powerful love, some of the best shit talking I've heard in a LONG time, awesomely exciting ass kicking, and drop dead Mytho's make this novel one of the best I've read in a long time.

I would give this novel far more stars than allowed, but since they stop at five, that's what I'll have to settle for. Definitely a high recommendation to any that love Vampires, Shifters, smart mouthed heroes, strong females and exciting adventures.

Desire and Fate by Beth Wright

My Review for Desire and Fate by Beth Wright
Rating: 4 out of 5 stars
Carrie Perkins-Cunningham

I received this free in exchange for an honest review, and extremely glad I got the chance to read it!!

Not something I would ever choose for myself, I was hesitant to start in on this very short story of a woman being stuck on another world with beings that would terrify any sane human being. Then I started reading, and got my socks knocked off by just how awesome the story actually is.

Full of emotion, passion and imagination, this story pulls you along as you read each page. You find Hannah; a human woman who is the only survivor of a brutal attack by the Dromgar's who inhabit the island. Taken by Ozanar- the leader of the clan of Dromgar's- as his mate, she is thrown into a world where the females are vicious beasts who want nothing but to mate, and the males are not only the protectors, but the caregivers to their sons.

Hanna is immediately attracted to her would be rescuer, if not a little afraid. She comes to love the young sons of the males around her, especially Ozanar's son, and is soon the most prized female within the clan, if not the entire land.

I found this story fascinating. Though there was a certain part that I didn't like, it was not a fault of the writing style at all, but one of those moments when you yell at the words on the page at the injustice done to someone of the story.

I do recommend this story. It is fantastical for me only because I'm not the usual Fantasy reader, but full of promise, romance and heroism. A definite four star read for me!
