lovely Jesca on the blog today and a super awesome giveaway but first let me
tell you a little bit about these amazing books! (blurbs taken from Amazon)
One of The Piercing the Fold Series |
*
New Adult/Mature YA due to depth of unorthodox or "Fringe" scientific
theories*
Jesca
Gershon-Sera has an average life on the surface. She is a sophomore in college,
has a loving family, and holds a part time job at a local bookstore with her
best friend. Her life is pretty normal. Except, under the surface she feels
like she is losing her mind. Reoccurring nightmares have plagued Jesca for most
of her childhood. She thought nothing of them, until they began intensifying
and finding their way into her waking hours. Voices, vivid images and
supernatural abilities in her nightmares are beginning to seep into her
reality.
Ezra
Kahn is one of her college professors. Lately, Ezra happens to be everywhere
she is; like he is watching her. Along with the slight fear that her professor
is stalking her, Jesca fears that she won't be able to handle much more of the
insanity that is blurring her reality. On a chance encounter, Jesca confides in
Ezra about the crazy happenings. Jesca thought that he would think her to be
insane or a freak. But, to Jesca's surprise, Ezra Kahn reveals that she is not
a lunatic and that all of the insanity is very real.
Instantly,
Jesca's reality is set askew. Ezra reveals that he has been sent to help her.
He tells her she is experiencing these events in her life because of her
inherited purpose to protect humanity from inconceivable catastrophe.
Jesca's
roller coaster begins here! Boasting piercing suspense, pre-apocalyptic
adventure, consuming romance, and "reality-based" spirituality and
science fiction; Piercing the Fold: Book 1 will pull the reader in for the ride
and won't let go!
Book Two of The Piercing the Fold Series |
Jesca
Gershon-Sera’s life changed forever in the first installment of the Piercing
the Fold series. She discovered that she was not an average college student
from Marietta, Georgia. Rather, she had a purpose as a Dobrian guardian to
protect our world and its humanity.
Evolving
into an illusion…
In
Surfacing the Rim: Book 2, the battle between good and evil continues between
the Dobrian and Sondian fellowships. The salvation of our world’s existence
beyond the impending galactic intersection lays in the hands of a Dobrian team
of guardians, including Jesca and her father, Ezra Kahn. The Sondian
fellowship’s inhumane corruption of our world is spreading like wildfire,
redrawing lines between allies and enemies.
Where
bonds are deepened…
Jesca
continues to strengthen her relationship with Ezra while her physical
attraction to Nate Sera, a fellow Dobrian, intensifies. Adopted son of Sondian
Samson Crest, Xander Crest has to come to terms with the corrupt Sondian
fellowship he has been aiding unknowingly and forms an alliance with the
Dobrian fellowship and the one person he did not want to leave behind in
Piercing the Fold: Book 1.
And
choices must be made.
Jesca’s
fortitude is put to the test when she must make crucial decisions in battle and
in love. Jesca and the Dobrian guardian team must stop the chaos the Sondians
intend to draw into our world from another galaxy. All the while, Jesca must
choose between the predestined link that she shares with Nate and the
unresolved attraction she holds for Xander. With unexpected twists and turns,
Jesca will face a battle of epic proportions in this pre-apocalyptic
installment of Piercing the Fold.
Will
Jesca have enough courage to surface the rim of this reality?!
Trudy’s
Q&A with Jesca
Okay
so now that you know the skinny…how bout we bring out this amazing gal! Please
welcome Jesca Gershon-Sera to the blog!
Trudy: Hi Jesca, how are you doing
today?
Jesca: Today is a good day
Trudy: Good. I am so glad. You have a very unique
name, Jesca. Does it hold any significance to who you are?
Jesca: Actually
my entire name has significance. (she
smiles softly) One night after meeting
Ezra Kahn, and learning about my mother, I Googled my name. (Jesca begins to wring her hands together and
a small wrinkle forms between her eye brows; she is thinking). Jesca is a variant of Jessica. It is Hebrew and its meaning is “He sees”,
“God beholds”. Gershon also has a Hebrew origin. Its meaning is “foreigner, stranger, or
sojourner”. Sera has two origins. The Hebrew origin means “princess” and the
Latin origin means “winged angel”. Combine
all of that, Jesca Gershon-Sera, and you have a very clear visual of what
significance I will have in the future.
Trudy: That is so insightful! (beams at Jesca) Okay here is a tricky one. You have mentioned
you have a Christian upbringing with respect to science. How is this helping
you cope with all that you are finding out?
Jesca: Coping is a very gentle way
of putting what has overwhelmed my existence.
(Jesca laughs under her breath nervously, and then clears her
throat.) It has helped me come to terms
with the fact that science can’t explain everything in our world, our universe.
Science explains a lot of what goes on, but then there is a void unless you
have respect to the spirituality in our universe. Christianity is just one form
of the spirituality that encompasses our universe. (Jesca stops and smiles) God, I sound like Ezra!
Trudy: Makes a lot of sense when you put it like that. Here is another tricky one. How did you feel learning
about your real parents?
Jesca: I felt betrayal, then
shock. I kept back tracking through my
life to see if there was any evidence of my real parents that I just overlooked
because I wasn’t looking for answers at that time.
Trudy: I can see how you would feel like that given the situation. So you did feel betrayed
by those you know and trusted?
Jesca: I
did. That was my immediate
reaction. After my adoptive parents and
Ezra gave me more of the backstory, I
came to terms with their reasons for keeping secrets from me as a young child. I wasn’t ready to experience those secrets
until now.
Trudy: So Nate and you have known
each other since Nate was five years old. How important is he in your future?
Jesca: (Jesca looks off dreamily,
then back at me) Very important. We are
linked, connected, predestined. Not only
that, we are becoming more than a predestined link through the trust that we
must have for each other. (Jesca looks down at her folded hands). Even though
he knows how to piss me off (Jesca snickers) I believe that our link will withstand
anything.
Trudy: That is so sweet. Jesca, where do you see
yourself in the upcoming months?
Jesca: I can’t begin to think past
what has happened a week ago and what will happen in the next few days, let
alone the upcoming months. With the impending intersection of our galaxy and
the Andromeda galaxy, I fear that chaos can only be expected. And, my purpose
will be to surface that chaos and protect the human race.
Trudy: That's understandable. Do you fear for yourself
and mankind’s future?
Jesca: I
can’t say that I think much about fearing for myself. I mostly fear not being able to save mankind,
our world, and those that mean the most to me.
Trudy: Oh thank you so much for stopping by! It was so nice to pick your brain!
